New Mexico State Baseball has combined to win 69 games the previous two seasons. In addition to the wins on the field, the Aggies have placed eight players in professional baseball in 2016 and 2017.
Among those professionals is Brent Sakurai, who was signed by the Gateway Grizzlies in the Independent Frontier League in early July. Sakurai has since been joined by two college teammates, Dalton Shalberg and Ruger Rodriguez, on the team.
